This exciting Italian restaurant serves delicious, authentic, unadorned, seasonal Italian food - similar in style to The River Caf The English owner is passionate and knowledgeable about good Italian food and wine and has created a vey attractive restaurant with a stylish but simple, contemporary design, which mirrors the unpretentious, buzzy, atmosphere of the restaurant - think Morro or St. John for example. This restaurant is a favourite of both critics and the public. The owner is looking for an experienced Head Chef to oversee the restaurant, someone who is competent in all areas of the kitchen, has a calm, good humoured temperament, is fanatical about and excited by using the best seasonal produce, loves to cook and eat great tasting food but is not obsessed by cooking over- complicated, over-dressed food, understands the virtues and the demands of executing precisely such dishes, loves being a chef and passing on his/her knowledge and wants to work with like- minded people As Head Chef you will be responsible for all areas of kitchen management and menu creation. A solid track record in high class restaurants (like those mentioned above) is essential, as is a real love of Italian food and the philosophy behind it. A calm working manner, excellent communication skills and the personality to pass on your knowledge to junior members of staff in a supportive manner is vital, as of course is the ability to co- ordinate a busy shift, ensure the highest standards are maintained at all times and hit your financial targets.
