Pastry Chef for a critically acclaimed Italian restaurant

Salary: 30 - 35k

This critically acclaimed Italian restaurant serves delicious, authentic, unadorned, seasonal Italian food, show casing the very best British and Italian produce. The restaurant has a stylish but simple, contemporary design and is very popular, serving 60 covers at lunch and 90 at dinner consistently. A separate pastry kitchen is currently being built (it will be completed by the end of December) and the owner is looking for a senior Pastry Chef to run this section. We are looking for someone with a solid background in good restaurants, a good all- round knowledge of classical pastry techniques, including ideally some knowledge of Italian desserts, as well as British and French, and someone with a calm, professional, pleasant working attitude, who can impart their knowledge to junior chefs and interact positively with all members of staff. As Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for all menu design and production and staff training. This role would suit a Pastry Chef loves to cook great tasting food but is not obsessed by over- complicated, over-garnished plates and understands the virtues and the demands of executing these dishes precisely . You will receive an excellent salary - 0 -35k - and work good hours - a 45 hour week - and work for one of London's up-and- coming restaurateurs, a very dynamic, well-financed, progressive operator who is really going places and who really shares your love of great food.
