This brand new, beautifully designed restaurant will open in April 2010 and will serve authentic Italian cuisine - think The River Cafe or Zafferano - in a very friendly and relaxed environment yet with very professional levels of service. The dining room will have 70 covers and a bar and have a lovely Italian wine list. Moro or St.John would be another example of the style of restaurant the owner admires - buzzy, relaxed, but offering great food and service, in a un-pretentious manner. The English owner already has one successful food venture and is very sincere about treating his staff with great respect and fairness and not flogging them to death - he realises how important a good, happy, motivated workforce is to the success of his business - and there will be a really supportive, congenial atmosphere to work in, without compromising the required high standards of service of course. The owner is looking for a Restaurant Manager with exceptional skills and a real love of restaurants and a passion for providing the best service possible. Candidates must possess tremendous communication skills, flair for hospitality and customer service, calmness under pressure, real attention to detail, first rate leadership skills and the ability to create a dynamic but enjoyable working environment. If you have a background in recognised restaurants at management level and a some knowledge and passion for Italian food (although experience with other food styles could be equally relevant), coupled with a calm, people-orientated personality and a positive, progressive management style, then this position could be of great interest to you.
